One Community on Two Wheels: The TWB and Hydrocut Partnership

There are some pairings that just make sense - and a great bike ride followed by a cold beer is definitely one of them. But the partnership between Together We’re Bitter (TWB) Co-operative Brewing and The Hydrocut Trails runs deeper than just a post-ride reward. It’s a collaboration built on a shared DIY philosophy.

TWB is a worker-owned co-operative, meaning the people brewing the beer own the business. The Hydrocut is a world-class mountain bike trail system maintained entirely by a volunteer-run committee and dedicated trail builders. Both organizations exist because people decided to roll up their sleeves and build something great for themselves and the KW community.

Before our brewery doors even opened, the idea for a collaboration was born. It started naturally, thanks to a few craft beer fans on the Hydrocut Committee and some avid cyclists on the TWB team. Together, they decided to create a summer seasonal beer to support the trails: the Hydrocut Session IPA. Crisp, refreshing, and light, it was designed to be the ultimate post-ride thirst quencher.

Today, that collaboration is going as strong as ever. Every spring, the Hydrocut Session IPA returns to the taps. Because it’s a true seasonal brew, it only lasts as long as it lasts—so you have to get it while you can.

We officially celebrate the launch every June with an annual party featuring fresh beer, community activities, and, of course, plenty of cycling. It’s become a staple summer kick-off event, so keep an eye out for our announcement each spring and save the date.

Whether you just finished a grueling loop on the trails or just want to support the volunteer efforts that keep our local trails running, stop by the taproom and grab a brew.

On June 13 and all summer long - raise a glass to the trails!
