Bry Webb in Concert with Special Guest Cots!

Bry Webb & Cots

Saturday, February 21 | 7:00 pm

Our first Back of the Brewhouse Concert of 2026 features Bry Webb with Cots!

Bry Webb burst onto the Canadian music scene in 2001 as the growling lead singer and guitarist for Guelph’s The Constantines. Their four albums (2001–2008) cemented the band as one of Canada’s premier rock acts, celebrated as much for their explosive live shows as their recordings.

Known for his deep yet soft and fragile voice, Webb has collaborated with various Canadian artist including Richard Lavviolette, Michael Feuerstack, Obijou, and Feist, who described his voice as “an authority” adding “I’ve always believed that he believes in what he’s singing.”

Webb’s latest record Run with Me, is self-described Garage folk blending minimal folky guitar with blaring noise that harkens back to those early days with the Constantines. Read Range listed Run with Me as one of the best albums of 2023 noting that it exemplifies “how music can expand beyond the sum of its parts”. Webb himself has noted that the album has guests “From Andy Magoffin, who recorded the first Constantines album in 1999, to members of the Cons, to my nieces Addy and Ella playing drums, and a doppler recording of my daughter’s heartbeat, the record is a document of my creative life, and the people who made it possible to make music again.” Webb sings on his song “Goodbye”,  "I'm through with all the rage / Now watch the light pour out of me." On February 21, Bry Webb will grace the TWB Back of the Brewhouse Concert Series, come and watch the light pour out.

Cots (aka Steph Yates), a Guelph, Ontario–bred musician, cut her teeth in the local DIY scene, where she learned to be “loud, assertive, and unabashedly scrappy” through projects like Esther Grey and Cupcake Ductape.

Her 2023 album Moonlight Building saw a conscious shift blending charming bossa nova beats and horns with her minimal guitar and dour vocals giving rise to a light dreamy record that weaves together folk and cinematic ambience akin to Feist and The Weather Station. Her charming and disarming delivery led MOJO Magazine to describe her music as "the sophistication of Everything But The Girl's Eden meets the sadness of Portuguese fado." Cots’ playing allows gentleness to the forefront and acts as “A meditation on loneliness and the complexities of the heart, a secret told from Cots to you only”(CBC Radio)

Looks like an amazing show Bry Webb with COTS sounds like a night worth attending! For students balancing academics and personal interests like live music, an online class taker can be a huge help in managing coursework so they don’t miss out on great experiences like this.
